MuleSoft Anypoint Platform supported features

This table lists the features and functionality that are available with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform integration.

Feature Description

Push new users

New users created in Okta are pushed as active users in the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. All pushed users are set as members of the root team by default.

Here are some important things to note:

  • The username is case-sensitive and can only contain alphanumeric characters and underscores.
  • MuleSoft Anypoint Platform username must be globally unique across the entire MuleSoft Anypoint Platform users. See Manage Users.
  • Okta sets a temporary password that's distinct from Okta sign-in password. After the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform account is created, users receive an email with a password reset link.
  • The initial password remains active until the user resets it. Okta doesn't store the previous password after it's reset.
  • If users don't receive the email, go to the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform sign-in page and select the Forgot Password option. Enter your username to resend the email.

Push profile updates

Updates to the Okta user profile are pushed to MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.

Here are some important things to note:

  • You can only update the First Name, Last Name, and Phone Number.
  • You can't use this feature to update the Email address.
  • Updates made to an assigned username deactivates the existing user and creates a user with a new user ID. All other user information remains unchanged.

Push user deactivation

When you deactivate a user in Okta users are also deactivated in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. This action sets the user's Enabled status in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform to false and simultaneously terminates any active sessions, which enhances overall security.

Import new users

Users created in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform are imported into Okta. The import retains all user attributes and organizational data. The attributes that are imported for each user are id, username, firstName, lastName, and email.

Only active MuleSoft Anypoint Platform users are imported to Okta.

Import profile updates

Updates made to a user's profile in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform are automatically downloaded and updated in Okta.

Reactivate users

Re-assigning a user to the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform app enables the disabled user profile in the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.

Push groups

Groups and members can be pushed to integrated apps. See Manage Group Push. Users pushed to a MuleSoft Anypoint Platform inherit all permissions of the respective team.

Here are some important things to note:

  • Groups are pushed as teams in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
  • All groups from Okta are pushed as the child of the root team.
  • Members of a group in Okta are pushed as the members of the respective team in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
  • Only the Display Name of the group can be pushed or updated. The Description of a group can't be pushed or updated.
  • Only Okta group members already assigned to the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform app are pushed to the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.

If a user is removed from an Okta group but their group membership still appears in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, the push sync likely failed. To resolve this, go to the Push Groups tab for the integration, and select Active Push for the group. See Troubleshooting Group Push.
